Examples - Jurisdiction in U.S.

General. The following hypothetical examples teach this concept:

Hypothetical Example No. 1. Wilbur and Orville plan to file a patent application on their invention in the U.S. and they want to make sure that they both qualify as inventors. Each one completes an inventorship evaluation.

Hypothetical Example No. 2. Walter and Isadora plan to file a PCT application that designates the U.S. as one of the countries within which patent protection will eventually be sought. Each completes an inventorship evaluation and they learn that only Isadora is a true inventor under U.S. law. Both are listed as applicants in the PCT application but only Isadora is listed an an inventor. Walter is listed as a non-inventor applicant.
